Importance of Animals Rights
Animals, being conscious and responsive, have some similarities with human beings. There are many pet owners in this world who would quickly tell you that animals are unique and they are precious in their own identity, and they should certainly be loved and nurtured. Since animals are lower than human beings, there are many people who believe that they cannot feel and that we should not be so concerned about animal welfare.
There are many people who believe that animals have no basic right to life that they deserve. There are other who believe that humans are above all animals and makes a moral distinction between them. Lastly are those people who believe that animals cannot feel, sense, or experience the same things that a human can and that an animal should not be given the same status as a human. The wrong sense of righteousness and entitlement has influenced these belief systems. When the cognitive biases are overcome, the reality that all animals do have rights becomes significant.
Living in a clean, safe place where they can survive is another right that should be given to animals. Humans have been known to wreak havoc on some sensitive ecosystems in the world like turning rainforests into flat plains and coral reefs into ocean deserts. Destroying this natural ecosystem deprives many animals of clean and safe living places. This is the reason why the green movement is also closely linked with the animal rights movement.
